I know, I know, its early yet for football as training camp hasnt even started yet. But as a grizzled veteran in the world of fantasy football, my research for my leagues draft, about a month and a half away, has begun. I read the lastest sigings, the injury report, and the various player rankings at their respected positions. Now I have a question as I come across the player rankings for RBs on a site I found on the web. To my surprise I see Edgerrin James ranked 7th on the list. Now I know he was hurt last year but James has been the first or second back selected in most drafts the past 2 or 3 years. I then discover on another site that they have JAMES RANKED 22ND! Thats ridiculous! I hope my friends find the site so I can draft him earlier. I mean is this for real, is there any hope for Edge in having a good seson already?

If you get him at 22nd, its a steal. I don't even remember the name of his backup last year.
That is a bit peculiar, I admit. Maybe people are thinking Dungy will really water down the Colts' formally high-powered offense? I don't know except that he always likes to run the ball, so if anything, that should help James' value.
I'm looking forward to football, as well -- I hope to have an outstanding SC FF league once again.

Ya let's go with the same league (Exit42). Too bad we couldn't carry over teams from season-2-season 'cuz mine was sweet.... I think I was #1 or #2 in my division if I remember correctly.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will be back in town, count on it.
I don't know, I prefer Yahoo! - would anyone be against that? Speaking of carrying teams over, that's kind of like a "keeper" league - I wonder where/how you get those?

I'd be interested. Its better than Fantasy Baseball right? Thats what Ive heard. Fantasy Baseball sucks in my opinion. It goes to long to remain at a high interest level. Sometime around the All-Star break I usually say screw it and let the chips fall where they may.

I believe Sandbox has a keeper league feature...not 100% sure, though.
Also, could it be that Edge is ranked 22nd because he is going to miss a few weeks or months? I don't think he is, but he did have ACL surgery, correct? That takes awhile to come back from.

Lets do Yahoo! It's seemed to be the best option for SC fantasy purposes over the past year. And as for being better than fantasy baseball, that's up to the person to decide.

The Name of his backup was Dominic Rhodes. Rhodes finished as the 11th best RB in the league last year, despite only playing approx 10 full games. (Yikes, someone trade for this guy).
James will be a top 8 back if he stays healthy, which shouldnt be an issue. in any league Id get Rhodes asap (either way, you end up with a sold back no matter who is starting.)
Another young one to get is Stacy Mack, Fred "Tin Man" Taylors back up. Taylor will start this year, go about two games, and blow out his pinkie. Mack is NOTHING compaired to Rhodes, but will deliver you a solid #2 back in most leagues provided Taylor goes down.

Does anyone remember who won last year's SC FF League? Because I think I do. Although Yahoo has a better overall layout for Fantasy Football, Fanball (Exit 42) by far has the best draft system. It is MOST IMPORTANT for everyone to have a fair draft, which is provided by fanball. It is a great system because it doesn't call for everyone to be drafting at the same time. It allows all owners to pick when they want and how they want. Drafting is the key to fantasy football, because it provides a foundation for the team, and everyone should have a fair shot at it. It is virtually impossible to get all owners to meet at a certain and date, as we go online at separate times, and are all located in different time zones. Fanball provides the best system that our leauge needs.
I still like Yahoo!. I think having the best site for game play throughout the season is equally as important. I like it it works and am really used to it from last year and this year. We've never had a problem with drafts to my knowledge, although you might be right.
