Props go to the Lakers today, short-handed without Shaq and Kobe hurting and not having a great shooting day (8 for 26 from the field), and still beating the Kings. The rest of the team really stepped up on the scoring end.
Maybe they're finally turning it around. Shaq's injury could be a blessing in disguise in that everybody else will step up and Kobe will develop confidence in some of his teammates.
I'm still not sold... I don't think they have what it takes to beat the best without Shaq. Kobe tries to do too much with Shaq in there and even if he scores 40, that means the rest of the guys have to score up to 60 just to get to 100, which is the norm out west against like the Kings. To win without Shaq, they need to hold their opponents around 80.

Oh, I'm not saying they can win the title this year without Shaq. I'm just saying that the rest of the Lakers not named Kobe or Shaq showed yesterday that they can produce. They showed Kobe that.
Since he saw that, maybe he'll have more confidence in them to trust his teammates (including Shaq when he comes back) more in the future and pass off more.
