Hey everyone,

I heard today on a very good, reliable sports radio station in Philadelphia, that Randy Moss wants out of Minnesota.

After the retirement of Smith and some of his own players ripping him for his lack of play in the Championship game, Is this the last we see of Moss in a Vikings uniform?

They said that Moss would go to Denver for either Anderson/Gary and a 1st round pick in the 2001 draft.

Does this make any sense?

I was wondering if anyone else has heard anything about this. They said there is a pretty good chance that this deal might get done.

I haven't heard anything yet, but I doubt the Vikes would trade Moss for that... just don't see it happening.

If it happens, it'll be a huge upheaval in Vikings land. But you can't say a change wouldn't be good--they've flamed out in two of the last three NFC Championship Games. The Vikings are in trouble anyway for next season, without Robert Smith. It'd be better to trade Moss and get something for him if he's unhappy than wait until he hits the free agent market. They still have young talent with Culpepper and Carter is still a viable receiving threat, so why not deal Moss now before things get bad (as they did with the Jets and Keyshawn) and start restructuring? I guess they could bounce back with the current mix and make the Super Bowl next year, but with their leader rusher gone it's going to be tough.

I actually think that'd be a fair trade, if it was Anderson, not Gary. The Viks need a RB now w/o Smith. Anderson could be great for them. They could then use that 1st rounder on possibly a WR to replace Carter when he retires. Maybe Anderson, a 1st, and a 2nd draft pick.

Actually, I don't even know how good Anderson and Gary are. I mean, do you think it's a coincidence that the last three RB's for Denver were all extremely good, or supposed to be? It's that offensive line. Them going to a different team would really be a tough test.

I think Denver would be RIPPING Minnesota off if they gave Anderson and a pick for Moss. Moss is an incredible talent and threat to any defense. Moss is worth a lot more than Anderson and a pick. Like another poster said, it's no coinicidence that the last three backs in Denver have been so sweet: OL.

Welcome marlboroman24.

I agree, Denver would be getting a steal if they gave Anderson and a pick for Moss. I don't see the Vikings trading Moss anyway.

I don't see Minnesota trading Moss away either. But, he is a free agent after next season, and Carter will probably retire after next season. You think he wants to stay there? I don't think so...

If Moss is a free agent after next season (I haven't checked) wouldn't it be better for Minnesota to deal him now and get something for him, rather than just have him leave and get nothing? Then again, they could be waiting to slap their "franchise" tag on him, meaning they'd have to get two draft picks, in the meantime hoping to convince him to stay. I think that's how the "franchise" player tag works--NFL draft and trade rules hopelessly confuse me, with all that salary cap business. GMs are well paid but it's a job I wouldn't want in a million years.
