I heard a lot of talk recently that Kournikova had a good chance of winning her first WTA tournament this week. She failed today lossing to Mauresmo is 3 sets, when Kournikova was up 1 set and 3-0. She had some time outs for a stomache injury. There was no Hingis, Davenport or Williams in this tournament. This is getting kind of funny. I think I just read that she has played 87 tournaments and won 0. Anyone think she can win one before she gets to 100? I am starting to feel bad for her, but I can't help but to laugh...

Poor Anna, it must be the hockey boys. If she gets better and even more famous, then maybe all the suitors with skates will dry up.

Once again, I volunteer to be Anna's coach. I will get her a win, if I have to spend every waking and sleeping hour with her (not a bad deal, eh?) So, if your reading this Anna, I will get you a W, and all you have to do is let me worship you from up close...

It may be that Anna never wins a tournament. That might be a Guiness record, as in my 40 years I cannot remember one top ten player on either side who did not win at least one professional or high level amateur tournament (pre-open era). Even Peaches Barkowitz won a few. Hell, even Brit Sue Barker won a couple of times, and Francios Durr, Betty Stove, Rosie Casals, even little Kathy Horvath (remember her?) I'm still rooting for her, but I am sure she's happy with the millions she makes now anyway.
