The Mets got free agent Jim Leyritz. He has a minor league contract with them. This is cool news, I think. He could be used down the stretch or if anything happened to any of the regulars. Nice to see former Yankees, too. What does eveyone else think?

Well, Leyritz was never that good and I really don't like the guy a whole lot. But, he did have some dramatic home runs for us. :)

Wedge- The Mets are pretty deep in the catcher position so I doubt he will make it. He will be compete with Matt Franco.

I know. They have Vance Wilson I think as a third catcher right now. But still, Franco didn't do so well last year so maybe Leyritz has a chance.
