I'm not sure if there's a post on this already (if there is, I apologize), but ....

Which championship team throughout history do you believe is the best team ever to play the game?

Here are some ones I'd mention:

1927 Yankees
1990s Yankees
The Big Red Machine

I'd have to unfortunetly say any of the World Series Yankees teams in the 20's, 50's, and 90's.

Yeah, I'd have to say it would have to be the Yankees team of the '20's, even though I wasn't exactly around to watch them. :)

Anyone remember the 1993 Jays???.....they sent 8 players (including pitchers) to the all star game....it was a pretty good team....and the GM did it on a Toronto salary, not a New York Yankee salary

Oh yeah I remember them...

Well, not really :(. Sounds like a cool team though.

Ahhhh yesssss.... the glory days of the '92-'93 Jays... now I'm kicking myself for not being interested in baseball during that time... anyway, I have a question... was "the GM" Gord Ash back then?

Ah yes! I love those Jays. That was when I was a huge Jay fan and boy were those years great ones. I remember Carter's WS winning Homer as well. Great feeling.

I am almost certain Ash wasn't the GM, it was a man that was a great person and knew how to run a team, however he left for bigger and better things I think. I just forget his name. I'll get it soon though.

The greatest day of my life was when Bill Buckner let that ball through his legs in 1986. His error was the only reason why the Mets won the World Series that year. I wasn't even one year old yet at the time but I saw a lot of tapes of it when I got older.

In a computer game that I have, the 1906 Cubs always win the eventual championship. Unfortunately, they lost the WS to the White Sox, so their claim to be the best is tainted. I like the '41 Yankees or the '65 Dodgers as the best of all times.
