Rangers goalie Mike Richter has had a tough season. He struggled the first few months with injury, and he'll miss the last few months with injury.

Two days ago, he injured his right ACL. The Rangers were a long shot for the playoffs (currently sit 10th in the East -- 2 spots and 10 points out of 8th for the final playoff sport), but now you might as well put them in the category with Anaheim, Tampa Bay, Florida, Columbus, Montreal, and their New York neighbors, the Islanders.

It's a shame to see all that money go to waste... but rather satisfying to see ALL of the teams with lower payrolls than the Rangers make the playoffs (the Rangers have the highest in the NHL... $60 million or something lilke that)... unlike baseball where the Yankees and their top payroll in MLB win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win and win AND WIN!.

Yeah. There is always next year. This year was actually a major improvement I feel. Fleury looks like he is adjusted to NY and Leetch and Messier did well again. Too bad Richter went down. We are on a winning streak however.
