Gary Sheffield has asked the Dodgers to trade him to either the Yankees, Braves or Mets.
The Dodgers offered him for either Piazza or Alfonzo, which the Mets both said they would not deal for him. The Yankees have left the door open, although it wouldn't be easy. And then the Braves haven't really made any comments.
Where do you think he will end up? or will he just stay?

He's going to stay as long as those proposals are so outrageous! Piazza and Alfonzo are not worth him. Maybe one of them and like a prospect or something. I think he'll probably end up staying there anyway.

I doubt he will go to new york (mets and yanks) and the braves...i bet he'll end up going somewhere else.....cuz if anyone has learned something from that eric lindros stuff its "you never get what you want"

I never really thought he'd fit on the Mets anyway. There was something similar going on a few years ago about the Mets getting him but nothing happened. I'm sure glad we didn't get him this time either. I really think Sheffield has problems.
he's not going anywhere, he'll also report to spring training even though he said he wasn't... i wonder if sheff realizes he sounds like Mondesi... god that guy was a whiner... although sheffield has been reported in trades none of them have happened... he should realize that it's the media saying this or that... but i'm glad it looks like he'll stay around although if the dodgers do trade him, i think another pitcher, preferablly a left hander, and not as old as Jesse Orosco(sp??) would be good
Man he's just like Yashin except he wants to be on another team! WAT A WHINER!

Well, that won't be hard, Jesse Orosco is like the oldest pitcher in the game. :)

Some rumors from ESPN.com:
Feb. 28: Though trade talks continue to spiral, Sheffield reiterated Wednesday that he would still consider signing a contract extension with the Dodgers. Sheffield's current contract calls for him to make $9.5 million in each of the next two seasons and $11 million in 2003. On the trade front, ESPN.com's Jayson Stark reports the Braves (Javy Lopez), Mets (Armando Benitez), Yankees (David Justice) and Royals (Jermaine Dye or Carlos Beltran) have been approached by the Dodgers for possible deals involving Sheffield, but have decided against making the trades. Industry speculation has the Mets considering dealing Jay Payton and a prospect (pitcher Grant Roberts?) for Sheffield though the Dodgers aren't likely to want Payton as the potential centerpiece to any deal. Greg Vaughn's name has also been mentioned as part of either a two-way or three-way deal involving the Devil Rays and the Mets.

Sheffield was a problem when he was he in Milwaukee. The chemistry will be bad were ever he goes. I'd shy away if I were a GM.

Looks like to Mets have dropped out.
Sheffield has also named St. Louis, Cincinnati, the Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay, Kansas City or Texas as teams he'd like to go to.

I don't think Sheffield will be happy anywhere he goes... he will always want more money when another player like A-Rod signs a larger contract (hopefully these huge contracts will stop) and when he doesn't get it, he will whine again like he is with the Dodgers.

Well, from what I understand the Dodgers said they'd take care of him and give him an extension months ago and they never did. (Is this wrong?) Maybe I didn't hear that, not sure, but if this is the case and some GM/Owner was toying with me I wouldn't be a happy camper either.

And while you're at it, since Jason Giambi could be a free agent next Winter and right now talks with the A's have kind of stalled you guys could get him too to replace Tino Martinez. :)

Well, thats pretty cool. Its true what Mac said, the guy isn't trying to not honor is contract, just wanting to be in one place. I say theres nothing wrong with that.
