I'm a huge Mavericks fan, which can be pretty depressing. My company just bought season tickets (11 seats) for our new arena. I'm all excited about the possibility of winning some games in 2000/2001. I'm excited about our billionaire goober owner who wants to win games and loves basketball.
BUT, he sure is acting like an idiot by yelling at the referees. I sure wish he would stop. I hate it when people blame the refs for their teams bad play.
Well, you guys should be a respectable team, but are no where near being contenders. Michael Finley is becoming a star and his supporting cast is improving. Hopefully Cuban can use his money and get a big-name free agent to sign...

I'd love to play for Dallas, with all of his perks.
This SHOULD attract a lot more good players to a team that's been terrible for years.
You already have one of the best players in the league in Finley, and with the trades they've made this offseason, they look to have a really bright future.
Good luck this season!

Hey, apparently Cuban went home from the road trip and admitted he had been misbehaving.

The core of your team is pretty good with Finley and Nowitski, you have just had some botched draft picks in the past that have heart you.

Does anybody know if Shawn Bradley is in the last of his contract with Dallas?

Yes, his 8-year, $44.2 million contract that he signed in the Summer of 1993 expires the Summer of 2001.

Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has been fined again by the NBA, this time $100,000 for sitting on the baseline during Dallas' game in Minneapolis.
"I wasn't aware this was finable, there isn't a rule against it," Cuban said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. "They said it wasn't fitting for an owner to sit there. Ridiculous."
This saga keeps getting more interesting every day. This guy thinks he can do whatever he wants, which is obviously NOT the case. Keep it up Mark, you're really growing into the NBA's newest, biggest jerk...

I'm not so sure about that Marc. He may not be Mother Theresa (Spelling?), but I think that its easy to say that he is jerk... but, I also think that he is really not such a bad guy and that is a dumb rule, if there was a rule. $100,000 for sitting on the base line? He owns the team. Give me a good reason why he can't be on the baseline? He pays the coaches of his team, the players of his team, so he can't sit next to them?
He should be able to say what he wants and accept the fines, which is what he has done. I don't think there is anything so bad about saying how poor you think the referee's did if you can afford the fine, which of course he can.
I like Cuban, I'm not a Mavs fan, but I think he has the right ideas about running his team and I think he will eventually experience a certain degree of success in the NBA.

Living in Dallas, the energy for the Mavericks is at an all time high, Cuban has brought interest back into going to games at Reunion, whereas in the latter Don Carter days and in the Perot, Jr. days there wasn't energy. Finley is becoming a star and Dirk has really matured and Nash, eventhough he isn't my favorite player of all-time, is distributing the ball well and shooting solidly. Don Nelson is a big part of this team, they'll miss him but if they can hang on they could go far in the playoffs. They really need to trade for a center though, Bradley isn't the answer and Laettner isn't a center.
