View Full Version : Vince Carter - Stay in Canada or go to America?
Since Michael Jordan has retired, the NBA has been struggling to find the next leader and true superstar to bring the league back to prosperity. Vince Carter could help boost ratings and overall popularity and health of the league, but is he being held back by being stuck up in Toronto?
Do you think it would be more beneficial to the league and himself for Carter to play on an American team, or should he be loyal to the Raptors?

Is there more money in the United States than in Canada for Vince Carter?
Yes, but is Vince Carter really suffering with his paycheck!? Not really -- it's all about greed (in any professional sport... on a sidenote, I hope T-Mac rots in Miami with a new house previously owned by Payne Stewart with a huge, bloated paycheck because he was too good for Canada's monopoly money :) ), I think... but why not stay in Canada anyway and help promote the league up here!? I mean, the Raptors have a good team, and there's no reason for the American TV networks to NOT show Raptors games and give him and the Raptors air time.

Vince needs to stay in Canada. If he leaves Canada, there will be NO excitement up north.
America has Iverson, Kobe, etc. Let Canada have Vince. How's it going to benefit basketball if he moves to an American team? I really don't see it.
He'll be paid top dollar either way. And just because he's not in LA or NY doesn't mean he won't rake in endorsements.

I think Vince needs to move to Dallas.

DALLAS!?... Why? I don't know much about the Mavricks, but are they in need of a superstart to boost popularity or what?
Sorry -- I'm not sure of their situation!

Yeah even if Carter going to the Mavericks in the future became a possibility, I'm not sure if there would be enough balls to go around for him and Michael Finley, being on the same team.
And especially since both play the same position. Reminds me of the Knicks with Rice, Houston, and Spree. Not good.

I think he should go to the US. Much more exposure for him. It is kinda like how Carlos Delgado is one of the best players in baseball but nobody really notices him.
