I heard a Rumor

I heard a report on the during last nights game that the Sabres offered Peca to Dallas for Brendan Morrow, but Gainey will not let Morrow go, anyone here anything on that?

I think Peca although a good leader, is a 20-25 goal scorer at best and with Morrow doing basicly the same thing for less than half the money Peca wants ( and 5 years younger)
I feel Gainey was right. Any opinions?

Peca does the things BESIDES score goals and get assists.... he's a leader... never quits... works hard... a grindy, tough little guy... that's the reason the Sabres can't sign him -- they know as good as anyone else that those elements in a hockey player are important, but they won't give him the big bucks because he doesn't produce the points.

peca is undoubtedly a young , better , doug gilmore. and can make the difference on any contender. that being the point, he will not play well for a rebilding franchise.and i`ll bet will not even show up , let alone sign with one.
( like tampa for instance)

Well Peck i mean Peca :D is nto only a leader but also a devensive(sp?) player it showed when he won the Selke trophy few years back and still is a darn good D forward.

Good points, Peck!... those defensive things and leadership are very important to a team's overall success, but don't necessarily show up on your stats.... it's too bad for Peca, because he's worth the money he's asking for.
