The Dolphins have made Olindo Mare the highest paid kicked in the game by giving him a 6 year/12 million dollar contract.

My opinion and I'm a Dolphin fan, is that he is worth it, he gets the job done and is one of the best kickers in the game, if not the best.

PK may be something of a joke position to a lot of fans, a guy who's on the field for only minutes a game, but any GM in the league could tell you a reliable PK is well worth locking up for years, if you can. Many a team has been weakened by poor kicking. $12mil is a lot for a kicker, though.
