i would like to know if there are any other fans ,sick and tired of the kasparaitis/samulson tactics of matthew barnaby. As a north amarican hockey fan ( and a stout supporter of honour in the game), it saddens me to see this . last night in the 6 - zip slaughter of the lightning by new jersey. barnaby was up to his old tricks,he started a fight with ken daneyko and when ken dropped the gloves , barnaby turtled.i get so mad when i see that. matthew will not be known for his defensive or offencive skills at the end of his carreer, but for turtling. its sad because he is better than that.he sells himself short , just for a 2 min penilty. what do others think of this practice in the n.h.l today?

Thats when a player starts a fight with another player and gets him to drop the gloves first, after the player drops the gloves he goes into a crunch , not dropping his gloves there by not getting a penilty ,but the one who dropped them does. The practice has only become popular with chickens like barnaby and is possible because of the instigater rule. Ulfe samulson used to do it all the time, drives cherry crazy. ME TOO . Every official is aware of the tactic but it doesn't matter .
If the instagater rule is removed , it will eliminate this problem, along with crashing the net, targeting high profile players and just about any other dishonourable practice happening in the n. h. l. right now.
I believe that the game was ment to be played like it was invented, speed and better equipment has made it so that certain rules need to be changed , to protect the player. But the main core of the game should not be touched, if bleeding hearts that watch are offended by the violence , and i do't see it as violence, than theres a change channel button on every remote control.

Oh... yeah... I've heard Cherry complain about it LOTS... just never heard of it in that term before.

Simple, Barnaby is a chicken pretending not to be. He's a discrace (sp?) to the sport.

Yeah, I fully agree!!

When Barnaby was still with the Sabres, they ALWAYS played the Flyers in the playoffs. Barnaby did it ALL the time!!

He would start start the fight, but never ended it!

When you are a die-hard Flyers fan, you just wanted to jump throught the tv screen and kill him yourself.
