I am sorry to see Al go...He missed a few kicks but I do not hold him entirely responsible for our losses...it was a team effort that we lost, as it would be if we had won...
I was disappointed but I can understand the pressure he was under...
If anyone knows how I can email him directly to give him my condolences and support, please email me...Thanks...

Hi TitanAngel! I was surprised that Del Greco got released, but I guess the Titans know what they're doing, especially if they got a better kicker. This release was just one of the several surprisingly releases this offseason.

You might be able to find his contact info @ http://www.athletedirect.com , which has many athlete's homepages.

I sure hope they know what they are doing...and yes, he was not the only surprise release but the only one I think might be a mistake...
I truly feel like they are blaming him completely for our losses against the Ravens...although it did put us in a bad spot when he missed the kicks that he did, I think we had other disappointing plays that had a part in our losses and they just put more pressure on Al...
Really sad to see him go...

I think I heard the Titans picked up Joe Nedney? If this is true, he's certainly nothing special.

Oh? How bad is "nothing special"???
Really getting worried now...

Well, he was on my team, the Dolphins, and well, I didn't like him. I don't think he is a very consistent kicker. I am glad we have Mare. :)

Great! So we get rid of Al, who missed, what, 4 in 6 years for an "inconsistant kicker"???!!! Does not sound as though Fisher and friends have a clue! AHHH!!! I am so frustrated!

I looked up some stats for you:

Al Del Greco
Over the last three years: 83 for 96 and 24 for 32 on kicks of 40 yards or more.

Joe Nedney
Over the last three years: 39 for 45 and 11 for 16 on kicks of 40 yards or more.

So, I guess he's not ALL that bad.

And just for fun: :D

Olindo Mare over the last three years 89 for 104 and 29 for 41 on kicks of 40 yards or more.

Looking at these stats. Del greco and Mare were two of the best kickers last year, it is strange why they'd release Del Greco.

guess he just got lucky... (not!!!)
glad to see Nedney may not be so bad...lets hope he doesn't miss any  or ... there goes the job...:p
Thanks for the stats...it helped me feel a little bit better...even though I still wish Al could have stayed...:(

Oddly enough one of the kids in my grade at school is second-cousins with Del Greco.
