Well, it looks like Doug Flutie is going to end up as Michael Vick's mentor in San Diego...assuming the Chargers draft Vick as expected. Not a bad idea.
Flutie can probably teach Vick a lot about how to play the position, and they have more in common as players than most may think. For one thing, they're both scramblers, but Flutie knows when to scramble and when to throw, something Vick needs a lot of work on.
The report I saw said Flutie would sign a 6-year deal, but I'm sure a good bit of that is structured similiarly to the contract Bruce Smith signed with Washington last off-season. Surely they don't expect Flutie to play six more years.
