John Unitas can hardly use his right arm and hand, the result of too much courage, total disregard for his own health and a Dallas Cowboy helmet which cracked his elbow while he was throwing a pass during a 1971 exhibition game. The helmet severed tendons in his elbow but he continued to play that season, leading the Baltimore Colts to the Super Bowl.
