Who here really thought that UNC would lose to Penn State? I didn't. It's sort of bad because now Michigan State, has a easy path to the Final Four. I mean, Gonzaga may give Michigan State a little trouble, if that. But they won't beat them. And then, I think Temple plays Penn State, which should be a good game, but they can't match up to Michigan State.
Stanfords bracket might be even easier. They play Cincinati, which should be easy. Then they'll probably get Maryland next. But I think Stanford is too tall for Maryland, and may even have better shooters.
The only thing I'm hoping for is Kentucky can stay in the tourney, and get the chance to upset Duke.
What happened to UNC? After they were No. 1, they completely fell apart, and I mean completely. Duke absolutely blew them out, as well. It looked like they didn't care and weren't playing with any emotion against Penn St. If you don't have the heart, you won't go anywhere.

I was at the game and don't know if this came across on TV but Carolina showcased a woeful lack of chemistry and heart. J. Forte was 3 for 13 from the floor and had 6 points, roughly 15 below his average.
Brendan Haywood's career ended on a typical underachieving note. If I had a dollar for every time someone predicted Haywood would dominate only to see him fold, I would be rich. He's fine when no one challenges him, but if he's challenged by another tough center, even one who gives up inches, he'll fold nine times out of ten. But he will probably still be a lottery pick.
It didn't really surprise me to see Carolina lose, but I didn't expect it against Penn State. What was REALLY suprising was how completely and thoroughly Temple dominated Florida. Wow.

I did expect UNC to lose also, just not to a Penn State. But yeah, Temple creaming Florida did suprise the hell out of me.

No, I did not have UNC going out this early. In fact, I had them being in the Final Two.
