Tell me about your favorite match of all time! Here is mine.

Sampras and Corretja in the 96 U.S. Open in the quatersfinals. Sampras won in a fifth set tie-breaker. Here was the score... 7-6 5-7 5-7 6-4 7-6(6). He was throwing up on court in the final set due to fatigue.

I thought he would be too tired to finish out the tournament sucessfully. However he beat Goran Ivanisevic 6-3 6-4 6-7 6-3 and then won the title with a win over Chang 6-1 6-4 7-6 with what looked like little effort!

But by far and away that Sampras & Corretja match had me sitting at the edge of my seat like no other match yet to date!!!

What about you?

Great choice Scott! That may be the greatest match of the 90's, and one of the top ten all time.

My favorite men's matches have to be the 1971 and 1972 WCT finals of Laver vs. Rosewall. Two of the best matches I've ever seen. Both five setters, and "Muscles" Rosewall was triumphant. Every shot was breathtaking. Both pulled shots out of their a____ses and fought hard till the end. The difference was really just a few better returns of serve by Rosewall.

My favorite women's match was Hingis over Venus in the 1999 U.S Open. Three long sets, and the little Swiss Miss comes out ahead. Great tennis on all points. I must say that Virginia Wade's historic victory on the home lawns during the Big W's centennial comes real close, mostly that it was almost magical.

Those are mine. Thanks for letting me re-live them!

I guess one of the Agassi vs. Sampras matches. Honestly, I don't have a real favorite.
