According to ESPN, the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday waived rookie guard Khalid El-Amin , who has missed the last 10 games with what the club said was left knee tendinitis.

Somebody answer me this ... why would a team cut this guy with only a handful of games left in the season? What did he do wrong (is it just the weight?)? Did they want to let him go to make sure they didn't win any more games? I'm confused. I'm not saying the guy was EVER going to be a star in this league, but wow ... any info?

Heard about this today. He really wasn't ever a NBA talent, IMO, though. Perhaps it is because he was hurt?

He wasn't quick enough, but still a good player none the least.

Being from near UCONN, and a fan of them, I thought El-Amin was a great player, certainly one that could help a team. I think he'll be picked up by someone.

Always thought he looked more like a beer man at the sixers games then a NBA athlete.
