A great article in this week's Sports Illustrated asks why Super Bowl quarterback Trent Dilfer was shunned by the Ravens, and now ignored by the NFL?

I think it's unbelievable that teams are more interested with Ryan Leaf and Jon Kitna than Trent Dilfer. After all, Dilfer even won the NFL Quarterback Challenge!

What do you all think?

That IS strange. Nobody's ever going to mistake Dilfer for a superstar QB, but it's very odd that he's on the outside looking in while the likes of Kitna and Leaf are still playing. What has Jon Kitna done, exactly? As for Leaf, is troubles are well documented. I think it may just be a matter of who's available for what price and the teams that are looking--it's not like Dilfer could go back to Tampa. But if I was looking for a backup, I'd sign him. Playoff and Super Bowl experience--especially WINNING experience--is more valuable than gold, if you ask me.

I agree, It is both a strange and stupid move to just ignore Dilfer like that. Granted, he isn't the best QB in the league, but his experience does add to his value. Makes no sense.

I hope this move comes back to haunt the Ravens. You just won a Super Bowl, time to dump your QB? No! As Tom said, you have to wonder, why are guys like Leaf getting chances and a Super Bowl-winning QB in Dilfer not?

I don't think that he was that great, and I don't think this will come back to haunt them, they could start me at QB and I'd do the same as he does. (joke)

But, him being a 'Super Bowl' QB does make it odd.
