Stop mimicking me! :( lol
I believe the Mets will be below... because they lost Hampton.. and got Kevin Appier.

I believe the Mets will because
1) No Mike Bordick
2) Ventura not hurting from injury
3) Zeile hopefully settling in

I've obviously got a little bias going on here, but that's alright. I picked the Braves, but I don't think this is exactly a powerhouse division in the NL anymore, but the Mets have done just as much as the Braves. Although with all these injuries on the Braves, it's narrowed the margin a bit more already.
Braves
-Need Smoltz in the 2nd half. Needs to take it easy the first half.
-Chipper Jones will be fine. But Brian Jordan, B.J. Surhoff, and Javy Lopez need to stay healthy. I think that might actually all happen this year.
-Milwood needs to step up. That 15+ ERA is ugly, but it will go down once the season starts.
Mets
-I feel that the outfield needs a bigger bat, preferably in right field.
-Kevin Appier is not Mike Hampton. The Mets know that, but they need another top of the rotation guy with Leiter, Appier isn't that. Mets fans better hope for a great year from Appier and Rusch to continue to improve.
-Would be nice to get some offense from Ordonez. But with that defense, it isn't imparative. But he probably never will hit.
It should be a good race, and although they're not ready yet, give the Marlins another year or two, and they'll have the chance to kick either the Mets or the Braves out of the top of the NL East.

I do feel that the Braves could have a pretty easy time getting 1st. Maddux and Glavine is a lot better than Leiter and Appier. Plus the Mets have only Piazza and Alfonzo for hitters. The Braves have a lot if they all stay healthy. Next, the Mets just seem to lose to the Braves espeically at Turner Field.
The only difference is the Mets are a little bit more healthy than last year and that might make the difference in a productive Ventura and a shortstop other than Bordick.

My vote goes to the Philadelphia Phillies. With Omar Daal leading the way, they are UNSTOPPABLE!!:) lol
No but seriously, I think the Braves will win the division and the Mets will be a close second.
Even though I dislike both teams.....:D

Major upset here folks. The 36 million dollar (or something like that) team in the Expos takes the East. I really wish they could. They have talent though, don't get that wrong.

Unless they get some good trades, it probably won't happen.

I pick them for 4th just beating out Philly. I believe Florida has a better shot than Montral.
hmmmmmm Expos all the way with Guerro!!!!!!!!! NOT!
Well i think Braves on this one with Chipper leading them..and i agree with SC-Brandon on all those points. Also in the first game mets won so mabye the braves aren't that brave........

I like that last sentence you wrote. Did anyone see that game? Ventura was awesome. I also like how John Rocker's first pitch of the year was hit for a 2-run homerun. Too bad John Franco was horrible.
Lets just hope that loses to the Mets don't occur very often. I wouldn't want to see the division fall into the wrong hands...:D...I don't like the Mets

Then you go under the Edit Options link under your profile settings, and upload your pic. Oh, and by the way, welcome to the boards! Have fun! :)

<font color="blue">15 posts? No problem. Thanks for your help. </font> :)
No problem, and just a side note, no HTML ;) You can use vB code (http://sports-central.org/community/boards/misc.php?s=&action=bbcode) though.

Back to on topic stuff now. Who thinks the Mets can come back from their early problems? I sure hope they can, but first get rid of Traschel.
