Well , i really don't know about the game last night between the flyers and the leafs, perticuly the incident where the fan came over the glass into the penilty box. the fans can become real agressive in certin arrenas , especially new york , but this is a new low. not sence the terry oriley era has such an event taken place in the n.h.l. and needs to be addressed. the nhl has to protect the players from nuts like that guy.How do the rest of you sports fans feel?( lee, even if your not a sports fan you can still give your opinion ok?) ;)

I heard about that....why did they attack him?

apparently!! the fan was giving domi the gears and throwing things , first at tucker when he was in the box and then at domi. domi did'nt like it so he squirted water on the fan ( a couple of times) the fan did not like that so he came over the glass at domi and sucker punched the ref.the fan was clearly in the wrong and the arrena was negligent in not watching the situation after tucker had things thrown at him. domi has been given a $1000.00 fine but no suspension and the fan was sited, or something like that.

Hey, budman2!... a Canadian team hasn't left Canada since that post, so I'm still a sports fan!!!!

...The fan initated the argument between him and DOMI (...I'm not sure what happened with Tucker, but it was a carry-over from that)... anyway, the fan did NOT jump over the glass... rather, he tried to attack domi... or something... by leaning over the glass, and it popped out and he fell into the penalty box... then he tried to attack Domi, but by the time he got in a few WEAK punches, the linesman was there... the fan then punched the linesman, and then Domi tried to help the linesman take the guy away... the guy was kicked out of the arena... or at least out of the stadium area so he could be dealt with.

Domi was laughing about it after the game.

I forget the teams and players involved, but a pitcher was bragging about a strikeout and the batter got mad and chased after him for a "fight"...... anyway, I laughed my head off... it was a joke... if they're going to fight, at least don't do it like cats and scratch and slap each other... PUNCH, PUNCH, PUNCH!!!.

Yeah. Punching is fun. Then again, we might have more injuries.

LOL :D but did Domi really get fined? if he did thats plain stupid.......

yeah, Peck.... u're right -- that fine was stupid... "only" $1,000, though...... no biggie for an NHL'er....

yeah it was really hilarious, unfortunately he was fined and when the fan was interviewed, he said as a professional domi " should be able to take it". Now i know from going to quebec major junoir hockey games in quebec and in halifax ( which is where i am from )and sitting near the penilty box ,that the oppisition really takes a verble beating while in the box, but how much is really enough,? and how far should a fan be able to go? if anyone said the things to me, that are said to the players while in the box, i am sure i would have something to say to them in return, ( in a cape breton kind of way:redhot:. so is it not understandable for a player to retaliate against a verbaly abusive fan and a fan who throws things. i believe the fan should be band from the arena, for a very long time if not for life!!!

Yeah it was a pretty interesting game. Living in Philly, I watch just about every Flyers game. What I seen on tv, was that one of the fans was heckling Domi. Domi then tried to squirt water on the guy, but missed. He actually squirted water on the guy in front of him. A much older guy. Then the guy heckling Domi was yelling and screaming at Domi while he was hanging over the penalty box. Just then, the glass broke and they were both in the box together. Pretty scary place if you ask me!! The fan then started throwing punches at Domi. Domi was trying to get a hold of the fan, pulling the guys sweater over his head. Just then the linesman jumped in and the fan just started throwing round- house punches. One punch connected with the linesman. The fan was thrown out and then security had to stand over the Leaf's penalty box while the game continued. Pretty strange things happen in Philly at sporting events, but this one pretty much tops everything.

Domi did receive a $1,000 fine, which is the most you get get in the NHL, and the fan was just ejected from the game.

OK a few things here...

The fan should have gotten more then a cite. I mean geez, you are attacking a player and the glass breaks away. If its a moderatley big deal you get up and away but he took advantage of it and started "beating him up" lol, but man that looked bad!

Anyway, a fine for Domi? Maybe because he did squirt him but hell he didn't do anything really. He could have beaten the guy to his death bed but he just put a little water (which does dry up) on him and tried to get the crazy man outta there. Props to Domi for his calmness despite the situation.

This is just my opinion after seeing the replays however.

well not only that , but there treating the fan in philly like royalty, . betman is wetting his pants over it , according to nick " the hammer " kipreose. bettman is blaming domi, i really think that gary who wares girls panties bettman, should go back to basketball, please, the guy is the kind of guy you have to hate.can anyone tell me one thing he has done for hockey that has made it better? if there is one i will garentee someone with a better hockey backround would have done it better and more for the improvment of the game . like letting it be played the way it has been played for generations . hockey is a full contact sport. not for woosies, or dweebs or " please stop , it hurts " people .
