Nikolia Khabibulin played his first NHL game in nearly two years yesterday, leading the way with 32 saves and just two goals against for a 4-2 Tampa Bay victory over their cross-state rivals, the Florida Panthers.

The Lightning have a good core of youth (notably Vincent Lecavalier and Brad Richards), and, overall, a decent team (FINALLY!), but they just could never find a starting goaltender.

Maybe people in Tampa Bay can learn the word "playoffs" for next year!

BTW, this is post number 1,000!

Yeah, that first round'er will likely be 2nd or 3rd or 4th overall, so that's pretty valuable... but it all starts with the goaltender... look at all the expansion clubs: Atlanta has Rhodes, Columbus has Tugnutt, and Nashville has Dunham (I don't think Minnesota has a decent goalie yet) -- all very good goalies... it all starts in the crease

...but what are you talking about "Tucker" for!?... DARCY Tucker!?... Tampa traded him to Toronto a LONG time ago!
