Who will win the Eastern Conference Quarter Finals between the Philadelphia Flyers (4) and Buffalo Sabres (5)?
The Flyers and Sabres played each other on the final day of the Regular Season. Although it was confirmed before the game that they would play each other in the first round, who had home ice advantage was not. Philly won the game to steal home ice advantage. Philly goalie Roman Chechmanek let in just one goal, but I believe that the playoff experience of Hasek will prevail over 29 year old rookie sensation Chechmanek... it will come down to who's better in goal, because these teams, IMO, are DEAD even.
Sabres in a close one.

I'll go with the Flyers. Don't ask why though, just a feeling.

i'm going with chechmanek, he's the cujo of filly, hasen't been that much goaltending for them sence the old days of a young hextal . of course checkmaneck doesn't have " the axe" reputation.he's a wall, big wall.
just think , if the flyers and sabers had a real fight , checkmaneck could rip haseks face off!! center ice, hextal could give checkmaneck some pointers in that catagory i'm sure. ha, ha,

This is a nail biter but I gotta go with Philly. They both are well arounded but goaltending will prevail and I don't think Hasek has his stuff anymore and the rookie will simply out do him.

thats just my point peter, he may be a rookie to the nhl , but that man has faces a lot of rubber.he is going to gain alot of respect in this league.

...I'm not saying Chechmanek won't gain a lot of respect, but Boucher went down the drain... same COULD happen to Chechmanek....

...the first period of last night's series opener sucked..... Chechmanek was OBVIOUSLY nervous... having let in just two goals versus the Sabres all year, he let in two last night alone!!!... the defense in Philly and Chechmanek have got to settle down a bit if they even have a chance of beating The Dominator!!!

as a leaf fan i can't loose in this series, if filly looses , it looks good on clark for not making the lindros trade and improving his club, if filly wins , it looks good on hasek for stopping all those gaols in the last canada vs check republic. checkmaneck did look pretty bad last night but not as bad as potvin.peeeeew, he stunk!!! :D . the cable went out here in quebec for the whole of the colerado gaame and half the pittsburg, man it reall sucked ( lightning storm) i am hoping and praying the weather is good for the leafs game.:uhoh:

I only watched the first period, and then I switched over to watch the entire DAL vs. EDM game, so I'll take your word for it, because for the first twenty, it seemed like everyone was a bit neverous... no one expected three goals in the entire game!!!... never mind three goals in the first PERIOD!!! :)

I'm with Wedge, my first bad call of the playoffs. Ah well, I just hope Hasek gets the boot next round, not a fan of him. :)
