I too think they should stay in Florida, but if they were to go any where else? Well the Charlotte Marlins sounds tight to me.

anyways... I think they're expanding the ballpark, too, to seat more than what they hold now -- 8,000 or so ... wait... that's not quite up to MLB standards... oh well... ![]() he he he

The Long Island Ducks near me hold I think 6,000 people. It is a much nicer atmosphere than the big league parks however. No crazy drunk guys cursing at players and the food is cheaper. I mean $5.00 for 20 oz. of soda at Shea! Is that cheap or expensive compared to other stadiums?

Here's the problem with Florida and baseball (personally, I think both the Marlins and the Devil Rays (what an awful name for a team
) will be leaving the Sunshine State):1) Too many old people (who wants to sit out in 90+ degree weather and watch a game? Especially if you're 85?) 2) Spring training...Floridians have had the tradition of spring training for decades, breaking that to try to get them to come to see crummy base ball is tough... 3) Most of the people there are non-natives, and thus root for teams other than the Marlins or the Rays. MLB in Florida was a bad idea.... Now, as to where they should move (because I don't think the Players Assn. will let contraction happen), how about Buffalo (great sports town) and Portland, Ore. (great support for the Blazers for years)?

I agree with you, Safe, except for #1, because the Devil Rays play in a closed-roof stadium, don't they?
