No shocker here. Catman, how do you evaluate his tenure? 20 years, wow. I think it'll be littered with criticism over PEDs, that infamous all-star game tie, etc...

As nearly everyone knows, I am not a fan of Selig. I feel he was too close to the other owners. He owned the Brewers just prior to being coronated, excuse me, appointed as commissioner. He didn't do anything about PEDs until fans started asking questions about them. His idea of having the All-star game deciding home-field in the series is wrong, IMO. The team with the best record should get it, regardless of who wins that game.
On the positive side, I do like interleague play. The sport is more popular now than it was when he took over. Overall, I think his 20 years will be looked at as bad.

![]() But is Selig a victim of being the wrong guy at the wrong time, or is he really responsible for PEDs? Did he do anything specifically that led to it? Not sure if he's only a scapegoat and how deserving he is. And I'm not even a fan of his.

It is not so much what he did, but, rather, what he did not do. It was fairly obvious guys were juicing and he did little to nothing to clean up the sport until guys started getting outed in the media.
