What is with it? The Tigers lose Granderson, and sign Verlander for 50 or so plus million! Is this team heading in a direction to win...or just fill the seats?

They are building for the future, and with their farm system, they could have a very bright future. I like Sizemore alot at 2B and they have some really good young arms too.

The thing with Verlander's deal though is it does not really kick in until 2012. His salary for the next two years is fairly affordable meaning the Tigers have probably bought themselves a couple of years before they seriously have to think about dealing him to a team that can foot the $20 million per season bill.

The Tigers are a better team with Damon than they were without him. He has a history of playing for winning teams.
