It's a split. I think they'll both perform well. Sheff is obviously more of a risky proposition, but they're about at the same level of performance talent-wise. Plus, Sheffield played with this injury last year, competed for the triple crown for a while and also finished strong.

If I were the Yanks, I would MUCH rather thave Maggs or even better, Vlad. Both are younger and have more upside. Sheff is older and injured now, and he seems like more of a short-term member.

Like I said before, Sheffield put up those awesome numbers that topped those other two last year with THIS injury. So why go get one of the other two when he will be able to play through this at the same level or better than those other guys? |

I'd take Sheffield. He played half the season hurt last year and still was very productive. He has proven that he's a consistent player year in and year out. Although a bit of an ego maniac (which is okay since he plays for the Yanks now), I would take Sheffield on my team any day.

I think comparing Vlad to Sheffield is pretty unfair, since Vlad is arguably one of the best players in the game today. When healthy, with the obvious exceptions of Bonds and A-Rod, i'd take Vlad on my team over anybody else. But between Shef and Magglio I think that Ordonez is going to be more valuable and should have the better numbers. He had a slow start last year but I think this year Maggs will slug for over 120 RBI's again.
