Default Jags Lineman Not Sold On Tim Tebow

If Tim Tebow ends up being drafted by the Jaguars, at least one of his offensive linemen will apparently need convincing he belongs there - or by the sound of it, anywhere in the NFL:

Tebow-to-Jags talk isn't sitting well with at least one actual Jag - Dr. Saturday - NCAAF Blog - Yahoo! Sports

I think he's 100% right. Tebow will not be an impact star in the NFL like he was in college. At least as a QB. Sorry, it's just not happening. I don't want to hear this bull about him being a "winner." Please. Nice kid, but not pro material.

But where are Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter etc. calling on Tim Tebow to "just shut up and play"?

Inquiring - if cynical - minds want to know.

Tebow will be a journeyman at best. Some like to compare him to Vince Young and I am not sure why as Young is much better than Tebow ever will be.

Welcome, Roy!

And actually, Gino Torretta may be a more valid comparison for Tim Tebow than Vince Young.

Welcome! I agree that Young is a better QB than Tebow will ever be. Not only does Tebow have an awkward release, but he won't know how to read pro defenses and is only used to the spread offense. No way in hell...

Marc, to be fair, most college QBs don't know how to read "pro" defenses because they do not play against them in college. NFL defensive schemes are vastly different than in college. The speed is much quicker and NFL teams tend to blitz a lot more than they do in college.

Tebow's biggest issue is going to be adapting to taking snaps from under center and having to take five and seven step drops. He has never had to do it before and did not look terribly comfortable doing it during Senior Bowl Week.
