Arrow Bulls say Paxson isn't resigning

Quote:
The Bulls have released a statement discrediting a report by Peter Vecsey that general manager John Paxson would resign shortly after Thursday's trade deadline.

"Pete Vecsey is not a credible enough source to comment on. Two weeks ago he had John being fired. Now he has him resigning," owner Jerry Reinsdorf said.

"I have tremendous confidence in John Paxson," Reinsdorf said in a recent radio interview. "He's really one of the best people that I know. He's a great general manager and a great judge of talent. I just worry that he not be too hard on himself. He takes all of this very, very seriously."

Some big deals while Paxson's been around:

Ben Wallace signing
Acquisition of Larry Hughes and Drew Gooden
Traded right to LaMarcus Aldridge to acquire Tyrus Thomas
Sent Eddy Curry, Jamal Crawford, and Tyson Chandler to New York for multiple lotto picks
?

Should he stay or go?

It is probably time for him to go. The so-called big deals have been big busts for the most part.

Wallace did not even last a year in Chicago and keep in mind he dealt Wallace to get Hughs and Gooden and rumor has it that Hughes is about to be dealt away.

The trade for Thomas was a huge mistake. I have never understood what all of the hype around Thomas was.

I don't remember him dealing Tyson Chandler to the Knicks I thought he traded him to the Hornets for P. J. Brown.

Basically every veteran player he has acquired he has shipped out in less than a year.

I give him credit for drafting fairly well but that is about it. The team seems to be stuck in mediocrity and it is probably time for a fresh perspective in Chicago.

My bad, I know he never went to the Knicks but I think he left around the same time as Eddy, and he's closely tied with Curry in my mind. There's another bad deal by Paxson, P.J. Brown did nothing for the Bulls.

I think it's a matter of time before he goes. Soon. A lot of smoke to be no fire here. The Bulls were bordering on being a promising playoff team 4-5 years ago, but have been in disarray and going nowhere since. The Wallace signing and Thomas deal were really bad ideas.
