Arizona needs a young great power hitter that drives in a lot of runs. Who could they get?

bama,

They had this guy name of Durazo, and never really used him and then shipped him off to the A's. He seems to have terrific tools and a huge potential. I haven't quite figure this one out.

Well Pimpbot, another starter to step up and win some games you say? Look no further than your D'backs prized rookie righthander John Patterson. He throws in the mid-90's and has a wicked curve, he will be a #1 starter someday.

As for Bama's comment about another bat in the lineup, J.D. Drew (Ya......J.D. Drew) could be a possibility, with the right package of course. Now I am not a J.D Drew fan, but many teams are, so maybe the D'Backs could send Miguel Batista along with Matt Maneti or Danny Bautista and a minor leauger or two to St. Louis. If that doesn't work, don't forget about first baseman Lyle Overbay, he's only 26, and has been dubbed one of the minors' best hitters.

So the D'backs are in good shape and seem ready to make another Worlds Series run as long as everyone stays healthy.

Lyle Overbay will be better than Durazo. They just need to stop playing Mark Grace and let Overbay have a shot.

I agree with Brandon. Durazo has a ton of potential but is a huge injury risk. The guy has never been able to stay healthy so I think they decided to get what they could for him and move on.

BTW, first post and I really like the board.

It is time for Grace to sit or retire.

Overbay will be given every opportunity to win the job and keep it. It doesn't hurt to have a veteran like Grace on your bench though. I also expect Matt Williams to get some play there against left handed pitching. He has been working out at first part time this spring. After this season, Grace will retire and head to the booth to do TV for the D-Backs!

I'm just glad to see the Cubbies above the Fake Sox, I mean the White Sox.

What about Matt Clement. He had 215 strike-outs last year.
If he would of had some run support he could have been a 16 game winner at least!

Shawn Estes will pitch with the Cubs this year.
Carlos Zambrano made a fine adjustment from the bullpen last year to become a starter.

The Cubs had one of the best rotations last year. It was the bats that caused that awful record and made the pitching staff look bad.

Now with Eric Karros and Mark Grudzelonik(sp)---who they got in a trade for Todd Hundley(what a deal)---Sosa will have a hot bat.

Alou will be back at full power. Hee Seop Choi is a big prospect this year at first base, probably behind Karros.

Bellhorn turned out to be a big plus last year.

This is the year.

what about Bobby Hill at 2nd? he is going to have to come up big as a prospect and produce since they chose to sit Gruzilanik over him to start.

I have a hunch that Hill and Choi will be playing regularly this season. Karros and Grudzielanek are there just as insurance and might be released to free up the spots on the 40 man roster.
I have had a chance to see both guys play and they are both really good kids.

I would like to see Choi start as well as Bobby Hill.

I think this team is very close to complete. Contenders?

Yes.
