Ok, I'm on the Varsity football team for our school and we are playing our first game of the season against one of our rivals last night. It was an awesome game and they had a chance to win it with a feild goal in the end on a feild goal but their kicker was an ineperinced sophomore and the kick sailed way wide left. So at the end of regulation it was 7-7. So were going crazy because he missed and were going to OT, but all of a sudden we hear the PA guy say "The Refs have declared a tie and our walking off the feild" and we were pissed. We eventually found out if the game is Non-region, then they don't play OT. I know the rules there, but in such a big game, wouldn't you think the refs should have played it out? I mean a tie to that game really sucks for the seniors because they never have anohter chance to beat them.

Ties really suck, I wish hockey would get rid of them. The NFL too but they are so rare there.

I'm glad baseball only has them about once every 5 years or so.
I remember due to a rainout a couple years ago, the Braves and Dodgers ended up with a tie game. But with 162 games and extra innings, not a big deal. |

When that happens, don't they usually try to make it up, that last game or so??... or not count it and only replay it if it means something in the standings??

I'd be pissed too, 'flake.
Nobody wants to play their heart out for 4 quarters only to have some squirrel ref step in and squelch the whole thing before the.... uhh.....climax. I'm guessin that dude prolly had a little nookie waitin' for him at home. Knowing that, now how does your tie taste.....? ![]() By the way, what postion(s) do you play...? Wondering...... |

Bix, i thought the GHSA had changed the rule to where games now went to the college form of OT. I wonder when they changed it back....
I know you live in Warner Robins, what team do you play for up there? |

But the funny thing is, I believe the Braves were fighting for home field advantage with the Giants and the half-game decided it. But since it wasn't a division race, they didn't replay it. |

Yeah, poptart said some interesting things.
Ellis, wasn't Kornbix your buddy or something? I can't remember exactly what the deal was. Anyway, I wish he was still here, or alive, or whatever.

Poptart will never die...
He'll go on forever as an aging SC pastry legend. Wonder what it would have been like to be on at that time. Would he be friend or foe?
