So I gather this is just a community of previous friends who got together and said "Hey! Let's start and internet board..." Anyone get refered here, by hearsay? Like: "Hey, you ought to see this place! It rocks/sucks?" Anyone?

I'm sure there are... difference is that most of people who I referred who are my friends posted, those who found it other ways, some of the less active posters, haven't added their thoughts yet.

As a matter of fact, I only knew four or five people who post here and a lot of the posters I met from posting here. So we all act like friends because we met each other here.

Maybe alot of people don't check out this section of the forum. Many people probably only look at sports related threads.

Well, after writing an article and checking it out on Sports Central. I saw this Message Boards link and clicked it. Didn't like it at first, so I quit, then Marc encouraged me to start posting again.

Yeah, with the slowdown in Internet related advertising they brought out the big ads.

However you can get them all taken out for like $5 I believe.

They made a Gold membership program and you pay for I think several months. Maybe $30 for 6 months...

Yeah, that was before VBulletin, it wasn't the prettiest. But I've never been much of a message board guy. It's kinda grown on me since then though.

Same here. I am more of a instant messenger user guy, I don't like having to check out all these threads, etc. But it helps pass the time when I'm bored.
