23rd Annual Battle of Maine Martial Arts Championships

**For Immediate Release**

One of the most prestigious martial arts events in New England returns to the Sukee Arena and Events Center in Winslow, Maine. The 23rd Annual Battle of Maine Martial Arts Championships will attract some of the most talented sport karate competitors around the New England and Canada Region.

Huard's Ju-jitsu and Karate School in Winslow, Maine will once again host this exciting Open Martial Arts Competition on Saturday, March 23, 2003. The tournament will begin at 9:00 a.m. with some really exciting and spectacular team demonstrations in the center ring of the arena.

This martial arts extravaganza will include many different styles of the martial arts, including Tae Kwon Do, Ju-jitsu, Kung-Fu, and many other styles. There will be competitions in forms, fighting, self-defense, and exotic weapons. The competition will be fierce, with entrants from all over New England and parts of Canada.

There will once again be many special guests attending the Battle of Maine. Last year, we had 12-year-old Matthew Helms. He is a martial artist, actor, and film star from North Carolina. Matthew signed autographs for local and national competitors. It was great!

We will be announcing who the special guests will be for 2003 coming up soon. Please check back in the near future.

Assistant tournament director Mark Huard says, "We put on a tournament for people to have a chance to excel in their art, just as a dance teacher holds a recital. About seventy percent of the competitors at the Battle of Maine will be children. It's really great to see these children excel. We try to teach our children it's not winning or losing. We teach them to go out and have a good time."

Karate Kidz Online urges all young martial arts competitors in the New England area to compete and show support for one of the most exciting martial arts events in the New England Area. Be a part of history as new faces step on the mat and give it their all at the 23rd Annual Battle of Maine Martial Arts Championships.

For a full information packet about this upcoming special martial arts event, please contact Huard's Martial Arts at mainebattle@hotmail.com or call Mark Huard at (207) 873-0407.

Say What?

"When I had money, I was an animal. I was so belligerent. I was so cantankerous, so persistently disregardless. I wasn't that nice of a person. Just because you buy mansions and cars doesn't mean you know what money is worth. I lost all across the board. My life has been a total waste."
