Eric Poole is a former professional athlete (rugby, semi-pro football) and
is also well-versed in sports history. He was the recipient of the Golden
Quill Award (from the Western Pennsylvania Press Association) which
was about the history of semi-professional football in southwestern
Pennsylvania. His work has also appeared in the Pittsburgh Sports
Report and Rugby Magazine. Currently, Eric is a staff writer
for the Ellwood City Ledger, a publication based near Pittsburgh.
