ESPN's dominance ... bad for sports?

Now ESPN has gobbled up Wimbledon TV coverage, a tradition on NBC for years: http://deadspin.com/5818607/espns-wi...levised-sports

You can add it to the list of things ESPN now controls. I like ESPN for the most part and think they do a good job, but a monopoly in anything is never good. They seem to control everything now. It's too bad FOX Sports isn't more of a competitor. Does this concern you guys?

lol
well done here in oz, espn is second in the sport channel rankings behind fox sports
it got here too late as well but most of our pay tv networks are own by News Limited which is pretty much just "Fox", so it probably doesn't have a real chance to growing down here.

They have some annoying shows and personalities, but yes, they do a good job overall. Care to elaborate on your issues with them?
