NBA Finals Thread

LA & Boston.

Time to throw out the predictions, boys...

boston_aloha 05-31-2008 02:52 PM

Celtics in 7 (Pierce MVP)

Dublin Mike 05-31-2008 03:13 PM

I have to agree w/Steve. I think it's KG's time, finally.

davematthews3 06-01-2008 01:16 AM

La in 5 Kobe MVP.

Tarkus 06-01-2008 01:56 PM

LA would have been better off against the Pistons.

If the Celts come to play: Celts in 5

If they have their brain dead games - in 7

Tony Allen 'doesn't look good' for NBA finals

Not good news for the Celts at all. More fuel for the idea of this being the year of the "Cinderella" Lakers.

Marc 06-02-2008 10:14 PM

I still am a skeptic of the Celtics, but I can't quite put my finger on why. Call it a hunch. Of course, I picked them to lose to the Pistons on a hunch, and look how that turned out. I think the Lakers in 7. This is going to be a great series and you can't blame the media for slurping Lakers/Celtics.

Meh, he has barely played this postseason, 48 total minutes in the 12 games he has played, so I don't know how much they are really going to miss him.

Tarkus 06-03-2008 12:24 AM

They're counting on him for his D he played on Bryant back in December & I'm sure for the fresh body & the fouls he can absorb.

Now how much he was truly a factor in Bryant''s poor shooting with the full game he played back then remains to be seen but come playoff time, anyone who can play well enough & keep your main guys out of foul trouble can be crucial.

Being any warm body short is gonna hurt somewhere in this series...

Lakers 4 Celtics 1

The talking heads amp up their Kobe-is-better-than-Jordan rhetoric causing Tark to jump off a cliff.

The talking heads also amp up their Kobe-is-the-best-Laker-ever rhetoric causing buckeyefan78 to drink a gallon of rat poison.

Well, all's well that ends well...I guess (shrugs shoulders)

* After death, please bury me with my Gail Goodrich rookie card. That's all I ask.

How about an avatar bet Steve?

:D

Celtics in six.

Kobe Bean actually has to play defense in this series.

I think the pundits are making the Lakers out to be better than they actually are, and the Celtics not as good as they actually are.

That is because the Lakers survived the rigors of the almighty, all-powerful Western Conference while the Celitcs barely scraped through the JV circuit in the east. Heck, some of the guys on ESPN have already penciled the Lakers in for five or six more championships after this season.

DISCLAIMER: I know nothing about the NBA.

But I do know that the Cleveland Cavaliers took the Celtics to 7.

Lakers in 6 (and it only gets to 6 because of some "questionable" calls)
