Johnny Damon Back to the Red Sox?
Could be. The Red Sox claimed him off waivers. He has 48 hours to decide whether to rejoin the Sox or stay with the Tigers.
Here is a story: Boston Red Sox claim OF Johnny Damon off waivers - MLB News - FOX Sports on MSN

Not really sure what Boston with him since he doesn't really play the field all that well any more.

Pinch hitting and running. Possibly left field at times. He knows how the monster plays. He would allow Bill Hall to play the position he is best at -- utility. Hall plays 3 infield positions and all the outfield positions.

I don't know. Part of me wonders if they simply did it so the Yankees could not get their hands on him.

Listening to the sound bites of him on SportsCenter earlier today Damon did not sound like a guy who was terribly interested in going back to Boston.

Sux only did this to keep the Rays from picking him up. Rays would have had the next chance to acquire him after the Sux.

Its a feel good story, Damon back to the Sox, if the Red Sox make the playoffs, how good would everyone involved feel? With the withering injuries in Beantown the deal makes sense, he is going to play in place of Jacoby at the top of the lineup at times and play the field in Left sometimes. Its a good move to me

NAR, Damon revoked the trade using his no trade clause. He' still with the Tigers.

Well I was speaking in hypotheticals when I posted that, than I disappeared off the face of the planet for a couple weeks so I don't even know what is going on.

But my post was all in hypotheticals, the deal was only "probable" when I wrote that.
