Canada SWEEPS Cy Young Awards: Gagne wins!!
Well, this ought to start up a whole new debate the voters have decided that Eric Gagne, from CANADA, is the NL's top pitcher, making him the first Canadian since Larry Walker in 1997 to win a major MLB end-of-season award. Combined with Toronto's 4th AL Cy Young Award in the past 8 years on the shoulders of Roy Halladay, this makes it a perfect 2-2 in 2003 for Canada with the Cy Young Awards.

Congrats to Gagne -- let's bring him back home to Canada and maybe we'll have a shot at winning it all next year :D

Had he gotten any run support in his starts, Gagne's teammate, Kevin Brown, would have won this award.

Gagne deserves this honor. He was dominating last season (except for the All-Star game), and was clearly the best pitcher in the league.

There wasn't really a "dominating" starter in the NL this year. Prior was pretty good and Wood didn't have the numbers besides strikeouts. Schmidt and Ortiz were the only really "worthy" candidates but it went to the right man. After the season he had he clearly deserved it. Congrats to him, MLB's Mr. Canada.

I agree with it being Gagne. I'm not much into giving it to closers, but he had as near a perfect season as a closer as you can have.

Congratulations to them all, but Smoltz would have won it if he hadn't been injured during that month or month and a half.

Gagne was really dominant. I mean he did not blow a save. But if Smoltz would have stayed healthy, it would be Smoltz all the way.
