What? No Brett Favre "Text-Gate" Thread?

So I guess I'll have to get it kick-started.

What do all you think will happen - and should happen?

Nothing, who cares it was years ago on another team.

Get over it, thats like the high school girls who get drunk and take off their clothes and take pictures which get spread around the school. Than years later it is brought up when they run for president. NOBODY CARES ANYMORE...we all did it once. Or if not we did something just as stupid. Aight. Whats in the past is in the past, unless its something serious like murder.

is there a delete option when you accidentally double post due to slow internet?

Sexual harassment in the workplace ranks where on your Richter scale?

Or if they run for governor of New York (see Carl Paladino).

And this case raises the same issue as the Ben Roethlisberger case did: Do you penalize the rest of the team - and its fan base - by suspending the player in question? And remember that, despite their 3-1 record while Big Ben was out, the Steelers did lose to the Ravens at home, which all but guarantees a Baltimore sweep based on the more than decade-long trend of what happens to a team that loses the first meeting at home to a division rival in the second meeting on the road (they also lose that game as well nearly three-fourths of the time, and virtually all of the time unless the team losing the first meeting is more than two games ahead in the standings at the time the rematch is played).

If, say, Favre is suspended for four games over this, the Vikings might as well forfeit those four games.

You dont think Tavaris Jackson could do a better job than Favre at this point? Hell Tim Couch could do a better job than Favre right now. Suspending Favre isn't a penalty its a blessing.

How many people have sent a text message they regret? Hell there is a website Texts From Last Night, full of stories (well texts really) that make this seem more common than you think. Go find a high schoolers phone, it HAPPENS...A LOT. It's never been that big a deal, just because its Brett and not Quinn the local cheerleader sending naked pictures of herself to her boyfriend, doesnt change the severity of the issue.

It is a big deal if it's sexual harassment of an employee, regardless how long ago it happened. I agree with toby. If true, my opinion of Favre just dropped even more.

NAR(cotics) 10-16-2010 05:37 PM

My opinion of Favre can not drop any more, hes scum.

doublee 10-17-2010 04:35 PM

The way Favre is playing right now I am not sure losing him for a few games would be the worst thing in the world for the Vikes. Remember when he tried to "gut" it out the last month with the Jets? We are seeing the same thing right now with the elbow tendinitis.

Something tells me the Vikings are going to be soon wondering why they gave Brad Childress that contract extension last year.

NAR(cotics) 10-17-2010 06:49 PM

or why they begged favre to come back...they got on their knees and begged.

TAVARIS JACKSON COULD RUN THIS TEAM BETTER.
