I guess NC State at South Carolina is our big opening nite game.

Alex 06-03-2008 09:30 PM

It's not a bad choice, should be fairly competitive compared to the drubbing LSU laid on Miss State to start the '07 season.

Glad to see PSU-Syracuse make it onto ABC. If funds aren't too tight, I'll probably try to head up to that one though.

Wow, I wanna hear what the dome is like if ya go Alex.

Ohio State has a rare bye this year...November 1st. Wisconsin is playing at Michigan State that day. I'm gonna head up for that one.

Alex 06-03-2008 09:40 PM

Sure thing. I'm hoping it's better than baseball in a dome. Presently StubHub has tickets at $90, minimum, for the 'Cuse game so it's not looking good. I'm guessing I'll only have the funds for one trip and that'll probably be Ohio State or one of the other October road games since PSU is only at home once that month.

WOW!

That's expensive as hell. Is that because of the PSU legion heading up there or SU's doing?

You should probably try ebay as the game gets closer. Even OSU tickets against the Bowling Greens and Kent States manage to come under $90 during week of.

Then again, The Shoe has a wee bit more seating.

:P

Alex 06-03-2008 09:56 PM

"Face" value of the tickets being sold for the game by SU are $89 because you have to buy a ticket to another game as well which is somewhat responsible for it. As well as the fact that there will be a huge PSU legion up there. I'm sure the game will sell out or at least be close to it.

Tickets for OSU-PSU are a minimum of $200 right now, likely to get worse. Unless I manage to score some tickets through PSU I might have to rule going to that one out. Purdue looks like a good possibility for a road trip although West Lafayette isn't the greatest place to visit. Tickets are going as low as $19 right now and my cousin is going to school there so I could probably crash with him and save on a hotel. Iowa is going minimum of $90 and Wisconsin is a minimum of $104. Looks like unless I go to Purdue I'll be dropping some serious money, unfortunately.

Un-patiently waiting for the showdown between UGA @ ASU. Georgia should be 2-0 after traveling to South Carolina the previous week, but those 2 road games back to back will be tough. UGA has struggled early out the gate the last 2 seasons, we'll see if the same holds true this year.

Richard the Lionheart 06-05-2008 07:55 PM

September 13 is pretty exciting, especially since we'll probably never get the Trojans in a Rose Bowl again.

For the record, I predict a loss--but very close. Unfortunately I think we are set up to get swept in that home-and-home. We'll send our better team to the Collesium this year, and then we get Petey's boys in the Shoe after we lose everyone.

We'll still have Pryor, though!

I still don't understand that move. Not a Michigan fan by any stretch of the imagination, but why not go to the program where you start year one in a system that is going to be much more suited to your style of play.

(not trying to hi-jack, but I was late to that party)

Because even with R-Rod taking over the ship in Ann Arbor... Michigan is clearly the more disciplined/traditional/organized outfit of the two. Why go there?

He'll have free reign in Columbus...on and off the field.

Countdown to disaster...3-2-1...

I can see it coming. Heh, next year OSU will be running the spread. They are built for line it up and pound it out. WTF? Tressel has lost his mind. Going w/the trend instead of what brought him so far in the 1st place.

My only hope is he gets booted off the team by the end of the summer. With Tressel you have to kill a man first to get kicked off though. Well, before that you have to make sure Jimmy wasn' in on the hit and then you proceed.

so 78, is it true that some plays are being put in just for Pryor? I hate to say this, but please tell me he isn't taking a page out of meyer's playbook. (i just threw up all over my keyboard)

Not only are plays being put in for him, Ohio State kept QB Antonio Henton (a less talented clone of Pryor) on the team even after he tried to pick up a hooker this past winter cuz they needed someone of Pryor's ilk to run plays in the spring drills as to get the entire team ready for when Jesus shows up this summer.

It never f'n ends Mikey. Never ends.

Louisville sure has a lot of games on tv this year. I wonder what's up with that. I can understand them showing Louisville/Kentucky, and Louisville/Memphis locally, but all of those games being nationally, I don't understand.
