Kobe Demands To Be Traded

Huh.....

Now he wants to stay:

Couldn't blame if he did want to be traded. I don't know how you can say you're building a playoff team around Kobe and Odom, then throw those raw young guys out there. If the Lakers were serious about winning with Kobe, they wouldn't be acting like a rebuilding project with their other moves

I am not one for conspiracy theories, but this reeks of a publicity stunt intended to get people talking about the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant right before Jerry West rejoins the organization (probably not as general manager, but in another capacity), which will then get the talking heads at ESPN to start debating whether or not West is simply the missing link to the Laker puzzle and how he will help elevate L.A. back to the top in the Western Conference title picture. I am sure increased ticket prices and ticket sales, along with more television coverage will follow.

Make sense?

Anything makes sense when it involves the Lakers & Kobe these days. And Kobe's flip/flopped more on this issue in the last 24 hours than a Beltway politician....

If only I could somehow convey the sound of a signature comedian rim shot over the internet, Sue would certainly deserve one!

This has been the story in LA. It's probably the biggest story here since... I don't know.

But now that Kobe has flip-flopped a bit it seems likely he'll stay. Plaschke postulated on the radio that the reason Kobe may have turned 180 from wanting to stay a Laker to demanding a trade is that he may have had a falling out with West. I'm sure West didn't like having his name being trumpeted as a savior while his protege (Kupchak) got dragged through the mud. West is fiercely loyal to Mitch and Kobe's public request for West might have backfired.

I don't know I think he may have flip-flopped because the Lakers told him they won't trade him so he figures he needs to make nice with the folks he has to work with for the next two years until he can opt out.

Make up your friggin' mind, Kobe. He's acting like a spoiled drama queen. It sounds like West wants to stay retired, and I don't blame him. Kobe, you dug your grave in forcing Shaq out, now live with your mistake, or at least be man enough to publicly admit it.
