Week One News and Notes
After being yanked from yesterday's game Patrick Ramsey has been benched and Joe Gibbs has named Mark Brunell the starter for next week's game against the Cowboys. It can only be a matter of time until Jason Campbell is thrown out there.

Two huge injuries from yesterday. The Panthers lose Kris Jenkins for the season with a blown ACL:

Not only did the Packers have a lackluster performance yesterday but they lost their top wideout, Javon Walker, with a blown ACL. I guess this puts a crimp in him trying to get a new deal done.

I think that the Walker injury could be the worse one. A very lackluster offense just got worse. Good Luck Brett this season my want him to retire before it's over.

Ramsey ate Gibbs' dog. That's the best explanation i have for Brunell being named the starter. Now Ramsey reportedly wants a trade:
I'm not saying Ramsey's awe-inspiring, but he gives them as good a shot to win as Brunell and he has more potential. I applaud Brunell for not turning the ball over yesterday, but he was not very impressive.

Us Packer fans will find out soon whether rookie Terrence Murphy can play. He'll be the #3 WR and with any luck the #2 before long (Robert Ferguson stinks)

Did they say how long Ramsey is going to be out for? Or is Brunell just starting this week and they'll play it by week?

Ramsey was ready to play in the second half yesterday. He's healthy enough to start next week.

On Monday evening, Gibbs all but acknowledged that the switch was made for performance, and not injury reasons, by noting that he felt Ramsey was "fine" physically. "I'm looking for someone to establish himself as our quarterback," Gibbs said.

No word on the starter beyond Week 2, though.
