In case you haven't read it... it is a MUST READ.

What!???.... Where's the ending!??... I guess no response is the best response that he knows that they know :P (to put it lightly without giving it away).

I've made two eBay purchases... both pretty substantial (over $100 each) but they both went through PERFECTLY. Both items were BRAND NEW with original sealing but I saved oodles by going thru there rather than thru retail.

Funny story, cracked me up reading how they got back at this guy.

Ending is there under "Buyer Responds." A bit anti-climatic... Also some short movie clips of the "spys." The "Apple store" (NOTE: NOT A REAL STORE) is worth checking out. Some cursing and "inappriopriate" stuff is on the link, but you know you want to see it.

Great story. The second web page wasn't great. I was hoping for an ending like " The guy sent a bomb in a package back to my house and it blew up right as we got out. The FBI is trying to find them but we think they fled to Russia."

Now that would be a cool ending.

I've got the real thing, thank you very much. :P

The one in the pictures is equally good IMO.

It was my understanding that moderators shouldn't be trolling like that. Very funny. It's your choice to be a sheep and use PCs, along with dealing with spyware, viruses, service packs ... have fun, I'll be getting work done.

You know, Marc, your Mac evangelism would go over a ton better if you didn't come across as a complete ass when you were doing it.

When Christians send their missionaries around the world, do you figure they're prescription for conversion includes the continual berating and belittling of that person's beliefs and habits?

I think not.

You need to chill out, man. Far too antagonistic toward PC users for my taste. :)

Wait a sec. Knowing full well it would piss me off, my Powerbook gets compared to a pile of crap, and I come off as a complete ass? I'm not the one calling others' laptops junk. Let me clarify: I don't hate PCs, or Microsoft. Hell, until Feb. of this year, I was using a Dell and had VERY little experience on Macs. I just don't like them as much as Macs, and I think people would be far better if they looked at alternatives.

You know, I feel like a one-man crew trying to defend a lesser-known platform against a constant barrage of mindless insults and ignorance, and it's hard to not come across annoyed and frustrated. I just can't sit back and let lies prevail.

MountaineerDave 09-04-2004 01:45 AM

Yes. Everytime you call a PC user a sheep, you further cement their refusal to ever see your opinion as anything but that of some know-it-all techno-geek elitist ass.

If you merely pointed to the facts, and left it at that, it'd be boring, but it wouldn't be offensive, and it wouldn't work to M$'s benefit.

I don't see it that way at all, Marc..
from what I gather- it looks like Apple is definitely the way to go if a) you're not a hardcore gamer and b) you are willing to pay a little more for super quality.
Which is the only reasons so far that I don't have an Apple on my lap. I do enjoy the latest and greatest PC gaming has to offer, and I like to get the most computer for my dollar. If I have to fight off more bugs, crashes, and so forth yet save hundreds on my machine- that's what I do, for the moment.
When I finish school and am into multimedia design hardcore, and money is not as much of an issue, I see a 99% chance of an Apple on my lap.

Marc 09-04-2004 10:22 AM

Shawn, I agree 99% with your post, we have no disagreement except that you shouldn't underestimate Macs being able to play games. On the dual-G5 Powermacs, they are as good as any PC playing games: http://www.macsoftgames.com

Dave, I admit calling people sheep is probably too blunt, but honestly, I think the shoe fits for a select few. Not ALL PC users are sheep, just the ones who have a blind hatred for Mac and whose only argument is "Macs suck." PC users who at least have a degree of respect for Mac, but who don't necessarily go out and spend all their money on them, are ones I can respect.

You're right, though. If we only argued the facts and didn't get any emotion involved, it would be pretty bland. LOL...

lmanchur. 09-04-2004 10:45 AM

I can't help but think that some of that comment is directed towards me. I give you the fact that the Macs look sweet and a few other things. But whenever you blantantly attack Windows and make false claims or say "hey, my Mac can do this this and this," I simply state it's no big deal because my PC can do the EXACT same things and support my Windows as you support your OSX.
