Over/Under for On Court fights = 9.

What took you guys so long

I wont try to run down the whole league like you guys did....that is too much for me to digest at once.

However I think I would narrow it down to the 5 or 6 championship caliber teams. As Charles Barkley always says there are 4 or five legit contenders and every one else is just trying to improve.

This is easy.......just go with history. Start with the teams that have a Hall of Famer at power forward or center. Then throw in at least one that have the capability to sucsessfully defend a HOF power forward or center. The only exception to this rule is a team with Michael Jordan. Sorry Kobe fans, the Lakers are not on the list.

San Antonio
Dallas-Dirk will probably be a HOF
Boston-As will KG
Miami
Detroit
Chicago
Phoenix-It seems like a stretch to me to include the Suns here but if Amare stays healthy with the numbers he puts up he will have a good chance to get to the HOF. Besides I wanted a third from the west.

Next throw out the teams that don't play top notch defense (good bye Phoenix) have not been through the playoff ringer together (so long Boston :whine: ) and any team that wilts under pressure (adios Dallas).

That leaves you with the Spurs in the west and Detroit, Chicago, and Miami in the east.

I don't think Shaq and Wade can stay healthy enough to get it done. I am tempted to make the cardinal sin of thinking Shaq is too far past it but I will refrain from that because of the memories of the same being said of Kareem in 85.

Detroit is too soft in the middle and no longer plays D like they once did, not to mention that they are longer in the tooth.

Chicago plays great D, are very athletic, and have a great post defender therefore I say:

San Antonio sweeps Chicago to repeat.

Good to see you back tray!:thumbsup2:

How do you like Orlando's chances this season with my man Dwight? Can they give Miami a run for the division?

Barkley on comparing Laettner to Bird: "The only thing Christian Laettner has in common with Larry Bird is they both pee standing up."
Now that's some funny shat.

I have Orlando winning the division as you can see in my predictions.

I know you didn't ask me but I'm tellin'...:P

EDIT: Laker fans booed Kobe last night when he was introduced. Gotta love that.

I am rolling with Buckeye on this one.....I would pick Orlando to win the division as well.

I love Dwight Howard, that guys is a beast and is still barely old enough to drink. I am not sold on Lewis because I think he was a good number two guy in Seattle and I don't think he has it to be "the Man" but with Dwight and Nelson he may not have to be.

Were you there booing?

I thought that was the funniest thing ever.

By the way Buck, I got a chance to meet Magic last week. He was in Memphis to receive a community service award at one of the large churches in the area.

That guy just has an aura about him that makes you feel like he will win in everything that he puts his hands to. Just being around the guy and talking to him makes you feel like you can conquer anything.

Almost makes me regret hating him all those years.

I gotta agree with tray's assessment on the Heat. I just don't think Shaq and D-Wade are going to stay healthy enough for the Heat to win this year. I said before I think the Heat peaked the year they won it all and are going to steadily decline until they out from under Shaq's bloated salary. Even when Shaq does play he is not an elite player like he was 5 years ago.

I don't like Cleveland to do much this year.

If Bosh stays healthy I really like Toronto. Bargnani looks like he is going to be a real player.

Even though Oden is done for the year I really like what Portland is doing and would not be surprised to see them sneak into the playoffs.

I also like Minnesota but Foye's injury concerns me a bit.

Atlanta is intriguing to me as well.

I'm goin' to L.A. over Christmas and will probably go down to Staples to see my man Fish. :D

I'll get my Kobe booin' done then. :P

That's cool you got to meet Magic.

I dragged my wife to the Lakers 1988 Championship Parade when we lived out there. We could have went up to meet some of the guys cuz we were that close but I wanted to stay back to get pictures of Magic holdin' the trophy.

Damn, that takes me back to the old days when all was right in the world.

Now I got Lamar Odom crashin' his car on the way to practice.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3088561

Forget makin' a free throw...these guys can't even get to practice in one piece.

BTW: the picture of Magic and the trophy has been on my frig the last 20 years.

I think one of these teams will the title: Miami, San Antonio, Phoenix, Dallas, Utah, New Jersey. None of the other teams have a good enough coach to get to the Promise Land. Even some of the teams I listed are a stretch.

If I had to pick I'd go with the current champs.

Cleveland looks awful right now. I think they'll be hovering around .500 all year. LeBron needs more help ... I think Orlando or Washington will finally supplant the old, injury-riddled Heat.
