It's called conflict theory in criminal justice.

-The criminal justice system and criminal law are thought to be operating on behalf of rich and powerful social elites, with resulting policies aimed at controlling the poor.

Drug laws fall under this theory as well...namely sentencing for crack vs. cocaine arrest.

I can't recall which main school it's under: the positive school or classical school of criminal justice but then again...I'm just tryin' to show off my book smarts when in reality I'm just a poor street kid...
