I'm headed to South Bend Indiana for a week tomorrow and was wondering if anyone has ever been there.

Is anyone doing any interesting Thanksgiving/Christmas season travel?

I haven't been in South Bend since I was a kid. We are planning to visit my wife's family on Thanksgiving.

Went to South Bend a few years back (2005?) to see a ND game. Beautiful country up there. Beautiful campus.

No plans to travel this holiday season. Well, to anywhere I want to go. The wife and I usually make a Cleveland-Pittsburgh-Akron-Detroit trek to see so-called family and friends but I don't count a stroll thru the rust belt as a meaningful vacation.

Well wherever you travel don't go with Delta Airlines. When I got to the first leg of my flight I was informed that they had overbooked and I was going to have to wait over 24 hours until the next flight. My friend, who checked in after me, was given a ticket, one in which he didn't even want. After arguing with the people at the desk who refused to switch it, even after they asked for volunteers. One of the employees told me to just get on the plane, which I did. (Your tax dollars at work) Once in flight I noticed that there were multiple empty seats. Why wasn't I suprised?

And on the second part they lost my luggage and I was supposed to have it dropped off over an hour ago. Still waiting..

The only place I really fly to is southern California and that's always Southwest.

No real reason other than cheapest price. As long as I get there, I don't mind anything else.

I seldom fly, preferring to drive to my destinations (to placate my wife who does not enjoy flying at all). Unfortunately, sometimes we have to fly.

I love flying. I think it's great to people watch in the airports. Plus a little bit of alcohol goes a long way at 30,000 feet!

Going back to Connecticut for a few days before coming back to PA for Thanksgiving and then going back to CT for a few more dats and then coming back to PSU.

Holy ****, that is a lot more back and forth than I originally realized.

In January I'm going to visit my friend in Pittsburgh. But I don't think anyone considers Pittsburgh to be "interesting travel".

Very true, though the two drink limit at each place was getting on my nerves.

Word on the alcohol. Last time I flew in June was to a friend's wedding in California, my first time out West. My friend and I drank overpriced cocktails on the flight. The flight attendant stopped paying attention to us after two drinks, so we ended up walking to the end of the plane to get a third. BTW, we were like the only ones on the plane drinking. And then we did wine at the Sacramento airport before departure home.
