Default Nutt earns a reward...

Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt will receive a $1 million bonus for turning down the Nebraska job back in 2004 after the Huskers fired Frank Solich.

There is a catch though...

The letter says Nutt won't be eligible for the bonus if he leaves Arkansas voluntarily before the end of 2009, or if he violates terms of his contract, such as committing significant and repetitive violations of NCAA rules.

The only real good reward he will receive is nut in his eye.

The guy is a complete hack and the Malzahn hire/departure was a fluke associated with the players he recruited. There were several recorded conversations that Nutt was having with Miami (Fla) and NC State officials and you can notice the desperation and urgency. When he found there were no takers, he had no choice but to stay pat in Arkansas. The guy is a trader and has no loyalty. He wouldnt think twice about bolting to a bigger program just to try to glorify himself.

Im glad he didnt go to the Hurricanes. That would have been a fine mess.

Would it be more profitable to turn down other jobs in the future?

Arkansas football fan base has produce a state divided. Fayetteville, home of the Razorbacks, is in northwest Arkansas. That is a area that has seen a huge growth in the past several years. Included in that area is Springdale, home of the best quarterback in this universe,(just ask his mom) Mitch Mustain, and now at SouthernCal. Also home of the former Offensive coor. Gus Malzahn, now with Tulsa. This area of the state at least 85% wants Nutt's head on a platter. For, what they think running off Gus, Mitch and Damion Williams.
If they could have their way, they would have Butch Davis there and Gus as his offensive play caller.

Meanwhile...

In central Arkansas, we have the home town of Houstoin Dale, Little Rock Arkansas. A place where 95% still love their native son.
Their are polls done by state newspapers & Sports talk radio at least a couple of times a month. The results are amazing. Total opposites.

Nays- NW Arkansas
Yeas- Rest of the state.

Footnote
Most of these Nutt haters in NW Arkansas are implants. Job transferiee's from elsewhere where hating is a way of li8fe for them. Never before have Hog fans had to deal with the bad press and all the soap opera crap going on in Hog Heaven.
