Giants. Common bettor fallacy is giving too much weight to one (almost always the most recent) game.

Eagles certainly need this one to try and save their season. I don't think they'll be able to do it, but think they'll give a good game.

Where are you getting Giants -7 from?

Has the line moved?

It opened at Giants -9 virtually everywhere.

I saw the Giants -7 at Sportsbook.com earlier today, but I think they are -9 pretty much everywhere else.

Either way, I reckon the Giants will cover the spread.

It is line movement - it's now 7 in most places.

Good job anticipating the line movement BettorFan!

There is a chance that the Giants not having Plaxico Burress this time around could be an issue, as Jim Johnson may be willing to stack the box a lot more to deal with Brandon Jacobs, figuring Domenik Hixon won't be able to do much damage - and this is what kept me from making the Giants a best bet this week.

But don't ask me what the Eagles can do differently on offense from the first meeting that will make any significant impact (the 31 points they scored being highly misleading, as the Eagles managed only 300 total yards).

Just can't see the Eagles pulling this off - although I will be able to watch it out here.

I was very glad to see the Lions game get blacked out, so I was able to see it.

That stretch in the 3rd quarter where the Eagles went something like 10 of 11 on 3rd down conversions was impressive. Great defensive performance today as well.

This is what is so frustrating about the Eagles this year. They will flat out dominate teams for two or three weeks in a row and then lose to someone they have no business losing to. I almost half expect them to lose to Cleveland next week...

I think they give that impression because of the debacle that was the Bengals tie, the 3rd and 1 stop games, and then the Ravens game with the McNabb benching. They really haven't had too many results out of the norm other than the tie. Lost the three division games before this one against two teams better than them and one streaky team that was better than them at the time (Redskins), the Ravens (and we're learning they're pretty good and getting better), and the Bears with Westbrook injured.

Now if they win the games that they should (Cleveland, Redskins), they'll have a shot at the playoffs at home against the Cowboys depending on how things break.

If I told you that DeSean Jackson would not get a catch and the Eagles would not get a sack (the second game in a row that has happened), would you have thought that there was any chance that the Eagles could win?

But the Giants had too many weapons of mass distraction fired at them - and when Brandon Jacobs got injured in the third quarter, it was simply too much to overcome (did you notice how the Giants passed on 4th and 1 after Jacobs went out - and didn't make it?).

The sack thing, probably, but the Giants line is solid and it's not too surprising they played Eli with coverage today, he has been picking up the blitz well against them recently. So, it's a little surprising, but not wildly so. The DeSean Jackson not having a catch thing isn't too surprising, though.

Obviously the Giants would rather have Jacobs in there, but they weren't moving the ball even when he was in there.

Not sure where you're going here. The Eagles stopped them on 4th and 3 twice already in the game on passes.

I agree with Doug on the DeSean Jackson thing. He really is not that vital to the success of the offense, Brian Westbrook is. The Eagles are only 4-3 when Jackson leads them in receiving so it is not as though when he has big games the Eagles inherently win.

The Eagles are 5-1 when Westbrook gets 20+ touches in a game and only 2-4-1 when he does not. The only games they won where Westbrook was not a key player were against Pittsbrugh where it did not matter because the defense was off the charts that day and at San Fran who was playing like garbage at the time. The only loss came at Dallas and that one could have gone either way.

Don't get me wrong Jackson is a key to their success but the Eagles have shown over the past few seasons that when Westbrook is able to carry the ball effectively they win games and when he can't get it going they don't regardless of how well the passing game is going.

The weather had a lot to do with the Eagles not needing to put Eli on his back yesterday. There were a ton of worm burners thrown when going into that wind yesterday and some of the Giants' recievers looked like they had never caught a ball in sub-freezing weather before. Not to mention the Giants just did not look like they were interested in playing yesterday. They looked unfocused and played sloppily at times and took some boneheaded penalties at inopportune times.

Honestly, this team should have no more than 3 losses. There was no excuse for losing the Chicago and Washington games earlier in the year and tieing the Bengals and they probably should have beaten Dallas if not for a couple of bad bounces in the 4th quarter.

DeSean Jackson is a large part of why the Eagles have allowed just 19 sacks so far this season, as opposed to 49 in 2007. It's what Terry Bradshaw and others call "blitz control."

Oh, really? Jacobs was averaging more than 5 yards per carry - 52 yards on ten carries - at the time he went out.

Obviously the Giants didn't think that Ward or Bradshaw could make it on 4th and 1, so they passed.
