Thumbs up The Bobcats

I know everyone talks like they are crap, but just because they have no high name players doesnt mean they cant play. They have all the best bench players, like Wallace, who havent got a chance to prove them selves. I know they wont be going any where to fast theis year, but i can promise you that they wont have the # 1 draft pick. I can see them going 27- 55 and getting like the 4th pick. And there final game will come with a great upset agianst the pistons. Look for them in like 4/5 years to be contenders

Welcome to the boards Bobcat. :wavey:

I agree, I actually like what I have seen from them early on. Bernie has them playing with a lot of heart and effort. It is funny ESPN ran a story on its website a little over a week ago speculating whether or not the Bobcats would end up with the worst record in history because they did not spend any money on big name talent in the off season.

The lack of a big name player is working in the team's favor for now. He has a bunch of young hungry guys who want to be coached and are buying what Bernie is selling right now. They have some solid talent to build around who are relatively still young.

Primoz Brezec has been a gret find for them averaging 16.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and his .583 FG% ranks fifth in the league.

Jason Hart is looking like a solid PG. He is shooting well at .517 and ranks fifth in assists per game with 8.5 and 7th in asssit to turnover ratio at 4.25.

Okafor has been solid his offensive game needs some work yet, but he is hitting free throws with some consistency and he has been rebounding demon for the Bobcats.

Gerald Wallace will be a nice player for them once he learns a little more discipline and improves his shot selection. He forces the action a bit too much on the floor right now and tries to do a little too much.

Given that the East does not have an overwhelming dirth of talent right now they very easily could be another solid draft and a key free agent or two from being a playoff caliber team in the East. They are competing at least last night was their first loss by double digits. They just don't have enough quality depth as of yet. I'd like to see them get a more consistent perimter guy to go with Brezoc and Okafor.

Yea, maybe the lottery balls won't go their way...

Bobcats have been surprisingly competitive. They should win close to 30 games.

Finally we get to see some of Gerald Wallace... I always loved it when the Kings would put him in, but he was too far back in the lineup to get any real minutes/experience usually. Good call on jumping over to the 'Cats, G...

They just can't win close games. Every time they get a chance in crunch time no one can make the big play. Inexperince, I guess.

That and lack of any real quality depth. They lack that go to superstar who they know will put up 20+ points a game and can take a game over. Gerald Wallace probably has the most potential to be that guy he just needs to discipline his game a little better and that comes with experience.

Wow, nice win for the Bobcats tonight in beating the Pistons 91-89. Okafor had his best game as a pro going for 22 points and 15 rebounds.

He is out for six games, but the Pistons should be able to beat the Bobcats without Ben Wallace. Pistons have been playing like crap in general for the first month of the season.

Okafor is looking everyday like he will be a shoe in for 15/10 for the next 12 years. Maybe at his peak he will hit 24/12 but he has to improve his low post moves and shot.
